SEPTA-CTA Certification Reciprocity Pilot

Certification is a valuable tool for public procuring agencies that want to understand the availability of historically underutilized businesses (HUBs) in their region, track their use of HUBs, and for HUBs seeking to participate in race-conscious or race-neutral contracting programs. However, certification programs are extremely fragmented across the private and public sectors, and within the public sector at the federal, state, and local levels. SEPTA and the Chicago Transit Authority are working on an MOU to facilitate inter-agency certification reciprocity for small business enterprises (SBEs) and hope this pilot can lay the groundwork for other efforts to simplify certification for HUBs.
