Milestone Convening of ‘Equity in Infrastructure Project’

WASHINGTON, DC -- The first Advisory Council meeting of the Equity in Infrastructure Project (EIP) brought together White House, USDOT and state and local agency leaders with private and NGO sector leaders on September 22 to improve public contracting practices by creating more opportunities for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) to build generational wealth and reduce the racial wealth gap by creating more prime, joint venture and equity contracting opportunities for these firms.

WASHINGTON, DC -- At an Equity in Infrastructure Project (EIP) event on March 1 that was part of the 2023 AASHTO Washington Briefing, the chief executives of 12 state DOTs signed the Equity in Infrastructure Pledge.

As you may have heard, our co-founder, Phil Washington, was nominated last week by President Biden to serve as our nation’s next FAA Administrator. I know all of you join me in congratulating Phil and in offering our best wishes for a smooth and quick confirmation. We all recognize that Phil is one of the finest transportation executives and public servants in America. Coupled with his exemplary 24-year career in the United States Army, we can see why the President chose Phil to run the FAA.
